my TOP picks at G-SHOT 2011 Best Customized photo

We ( all the 5 judges ) are currently judging the Best Customized category at G-SHOT 2011. Gundam Guy has announced the winner of Best Straight Build and Best Paint Job already and we will have the results of the Best in Customized very soon! 3 of the 5 judges ( including yours truly ) has casted our votes... so results will be up soon guys!

Much like the previous two categories, the Best Customized category proves to be as difficult to judge. Tons of great entries from all over the world! Previous Filipino Bandai champions Angelo Guibone and Eric Capucion has joined the fun. Top up and coming masters and modelers such as Jonathan Kaminski MatX and Gian Paparo are also on my top picks! Matt Tomczek, the winner in Best Paint Job also has an entry! All great stuff and I have my top 10 picks in random order in this post!

Do check out the official post at Gundam Guy's for more and bigger photos of all the entries! Here is the link guys...

G-SHOT 2011 Best in Paint Job - Matt Tomczek

G-SHOT 2011 Best in Paint Job - Matt Tomczek photo

Good friend and MAC forums VIP member Matt Tomczek of the US just won in the Best in Paint Job category at Gundam Guy's G-Shot 2011 Gunpla Photo Contest!

Lots of great entries in the Best in Paint Job Category but I ended up choosing Matt's fine work on this Perfect Grade GP01. The insane amount of work and the technical skill to pull of such a fine perfect grade masterpiece is too overwhelming for me to not put Matt as the winner. 3 out of the 5 judges chose this build over the others.

View the rest of the finalists which made our job difficult at Gundam Guy's official post. Here is the link guys...

G-System 1/72 RX-93 HI-NU by Matt Tomczek

 G System 1/72 RX-93 HI-NU by Matt Tomczek photo

Just want to share that my good friend and Mech Arts Community ( MAC ) Forums VIP member MATT TOMCZEK, has just finished another resin G-System masterpiece!

I present to you today a masterfully crafted and painted G-System 1/72 RX-93 HI-NU. This is yet another commission work and was mostly painted with Mr.Hobby lacquers. Aside from the obvious fact that Matt's painting and finishing is humanly impossible. Matt Tomczek has a very good eye for great color schemes and has always amazed me with his color scheme selections.

NeoGrade conversion MG EX-S by Matt Tomczek

NeoGrade conversion MG EX-S by Matt Tomczek photo

I was checking out this masterpiece by my good friend Matt Tomczek and figured I'd share it to you as well. This is the 1/100 NeoGrade conversion of the MG EX-S Gundam and Matt told me that he will be shipping me ( from the US ) a resin head and gun as he has a spare. Thanks a ton man!

I could and will use the head for my DeepStriker project and will be using mostly Matt Tomczek's works as my reference the whole year. I will try to painstakingly scratch build the rest of the parts though but it is always good to have great photos of a great build in front of you. Matt also has a completed G System Deepstriker that I could reference to while working on my project. Glad to have great modeler friends around! lol

Gunpla Inspiration ver Matt Tomczek

Jonathan Kaminski aka Kamm just uploaded his third installment of his Gunpla Inspiration video series at YouTube! This time it features one of our online friends from the US who has been very supportive of our young forums ever since.

Matt Tomczek aka mtomczek has been an inspiration from all of us, as he consistently produces resin behemoth masterpieces in unrealistic speed. His works are clean and perfect and he has one of the best finishing I've seen in the net. Great handsome fella to go along with great skills! Hope you enjoy the great video by Kamm guys! :)

1/35 RX-78-2 ver Ka by mtomczek

Ello guys, I present to you Matt Tomczek's not so recent masterpiece, the 1/35 RX-78-2 ver Ka! We basically enjoyed the WIP of this behemoth at Fichtenfoo forums and ZeroGunz and have also seen this monster of a build at both forums as well.

However, I am really happy to see Matt's masterpieces at MAC forums now... Like I said before, I feel so fortunate to have met and made good friends in Hong Kong and at ZeroGunz! Matt Tomczek's and my other non- Filipino friends are helping us inspire the new aspiring Filipino modelers at MAC.

This build opened my eyes for my future...hihi. After seeing this at ZeroGunz, I vowed that one of these years I will buy this behemoth and show this monster to my fellow Filipino modelers in the flesh ( resin ), Hope my wife never reads this. Matt's painting skills is humanly impossible to match but I hope to build one of these resin giants in the near future.

The photo below shows the 1/35 kit with a 1/60 NG Exia...

Thanks for dropping by!!! XD

1/72 Sazabi and Nu Gundam by mtomczek

Ello guys, a quick post before I start the day with my projects. I have featured the 1/72 Sazabi by Matt and the 1/72 here in my blog a few clicks back. But I just saw the stunning photos of both the 1/72 resin kits together. Both kits are commissioned works from the same client.

As usual, Matt's effective mods and flawless finishing are marvelous to look at. His works because of his humanly impossible skills in painting these large resin behemoths are simply awe inspiring. I wonder if Matt will ever play with Bandai plastics again or even join Bakuc?

FichtenFoo and mtomczek - new M.A.C. officers!!!

The Mech Arts Community or M.A.C. has its biggest named mecha modelers from the United States as officers today! I really could not put into words how I am feeling right now... I am deeply honored and humbled by these two guys.

MAC's sole intention of inspiring up and coming modelers all over the globe is so much easier when you have the biggest names in the Gundam / Mecha modelling community in one single roof! We now have the  the BEST ( I think ) collection of Gundam modelers as Officers in a facebook page to date!

Without any further words...I introduce to you my master in Gunpla...  Michael Fichtenmayer aka FichtenFoo and of course my good friend and idol,  Matt Tomczek aka mtomczek as Mech Arts Community's newest member / officers / admins that will help us ( just by there names alone ) to fulfill the master plan of further spreading this hobby and inspire younger modelers around the world wide web.

My deepest gratitude to both this guys for accepting our invitation! XD
