my 2012 Mecha Contest Entry Pass!

my 2012 Mecha Contest Entry Pass photo

It was a bit of a hassle getting the box as it is at the bottom of a 5 foot stack of MG boxes. But I should follow the rule.

Anyways my entry for our 2012 Mecha Contest at Mech Arts Community ( MAC ) forums will be my Perfect Grade Aile Strike Gundam clear version.I will be entering in the modified plastic category.I got challenged by my good friend Kenny Lim aka TOYMAKER as he will be using a PG Aile Strike Gundam as entry for the modified plastic category as well.

This was a gift from my friends from Singapore who came over in last year's MAC forums anniversary. Again special thanks to Joyce of HAG ( Hobby Art Gallery ) for this generous gift! Now I get to use it for a contest.

Basically to save the precious clear armors, I will be stripping / removing this kit of it's armors and will be trying to scratch built custom armor parts of my own design. I collected various concept robot artworks for my inspiration for this project yesterday. Wish me luck guys!

my 2012 Mecha Contest project - concept inspirations

concept robots photo

All concept robot art were taken from concept robots.blogspot.com

I have yet to submit my ENTRY PASS for the 2012 Mecha Contest at Mech Arts Community  ( MAC )Forums. But I brought my entry kit here in the office and and is starting to brain storm some designs with the help of robot artworks I took from concept robots.blogspot.com.

I will keep it as a surprise for now on what kit I will be working on. But me joining our own contest is just a call to the ( friendly ) challenge  of Kenny Lim aka Toymaker as he just submitted his entry pass yesterday.

My 2012 Mecha Contest entry is going to be sort of a Toymaker versus DC23 part 2! Anyways, I figured I'd share to you my great concept robot finds earlier today. This post will serve as my quick reference as I work on my project soon.

Needless to say, I vow to beat Kenny this time around! lol

TOYMAKER joins 2012 Mecha Contest at MAC!

Toymaker joins 2012 Mecha Contest at MAC forums photo

My good friend and former Face-Off buddy Kenny Lim aka TOYMAKER, has just entered and joined our 2012 Mecha Contest at Mech Arts Community Forums ( MAC forums )!

Kenny will be building a PG Strike Gundam complete with all 3 strike systems!

High profile modelers has joined the fun and the 2012 Mecha Contest at MAC forums will be a war! FichtenFoo is judging along side the creators Kamm and Sneeper1980. Now this makes me think if I could join too? I just resigned as MAC forums admin last week ( but I am back )... maybe I should resign again so that I could join? lol

Older Gunpla modelers like me do not join contests as much as before. Aor_or_die and I are not allowed to join Bandai competitions. Toymaker will no longer be joining Bandai contests from now on and Matt Tomczek and Matt Mrozek are not joining official contests as well. Toymaker joining the 2012 marks an almost complete line up of Gunpla masters in the 2012 Mecha Contest ( That does not happen even in Bandai competitions ). This sure is so fun to watch!

Should I be joining the party at Mech Arts Community ( MAC ) Forums as well??? :)

I am very envious as all of my friends are joining our 2012 Mecha Contest at MAC forums ( 163 entries so far ). All the big names in Matt Mrozek, Matt Tomczek, Decay, Tember Gundam and even Toymaker    has joined the fun! Lots of new, young and up coming Filipino modelers has also joined the 2012 Mecha Contest in amir anti yosi, krescenhaze, Davime and Gianshopao among others.

Lots of great entries to look out for so join in the fun today!

Content in watching this battle of mecha building at Mech Arts Community forums, I will just feature work in progress threads of entries that I like. Although it is almost impossible for me to keep track of all the entries but if your works are impressive, will sure shout it out here in my website. Simply put, impressive WIP threads in our 2012 Mecha Contest gets featured through out the contest ( until July 1st ).

First 2012 Mecha Contest WIP feature would be the work in progress thread of my good friend Omar aka aor_or_die of Italy! Omar is scratch building and scrap building a PMS-007 Jaguar 1 from various plastic and resin parts. He has casted a MG Sazabi head as the base shape and has progress well with the scratch built neck and face parts.

Although he has only finished the head up to the neck part, this build sure is looking very impressive already! Anyways join the discussion and see more photos of this 2012 Mecha Contest entry at MAC forums. Here is the link guys...

M.A.C. shirt designs and prize for the M.A.C. online competition!

Ello guys, I met up with a handful of guys in Kisapmata ( Jose Sabale ), Fil Dimaano and MatX last Saturday and we talked about Gunpla of course. hihi... The main purpose of the meeting is to talk about the MAC competition,  MAC shirts and other MAC stuffs. Ghani Madueno, the Sampayo brothers and Angelo Guibone ( MDgelo ) were unable to come.

We have a slight problem with the printing of the MAC shirts, Fil needs to find a cheaper supplier to cut the cost and I asked him if he could remove the DC23 on the design already. I am still waiting for Fil's next batch of superb designs... and we hope we could find a cheaper alternative to printing a handful of shirts ( maybe around 20 ).

On the other hand, MatX gave me a Trumpeter tool as his donation to the MAC online competition... again, the prizes are a Robot Damashi figure, a Tamiya tool, 3 pieces of MSG option parts and a limited Bandai item. Plus of course the Trrumpeter tool from MatX.

It was a very nice meet up... looking forward to meeting these guys again before Bakuc and hopefully we pull off the competition and shirts among others. ;)

Thanks for dropping by! til' next post! XD

THANK YOU to ALL from MAC!!!

Mech Arts Community or M.A.C. is a new international community of Gundam bloggers and modelers with the sole intention to inspire & promote GUNDAM Plastic Modeling as a hobby to all aspiring modelers young and old.

My deepest gratitude to all the 212 members so far, who supported the idea in its first 4 days and specially to those who have contributed photos, links, and discussions to our wall already.

We encourage all members to post photos of there old and new Gunpla works. We also encourage posting links to your threads in ZeroGunz, Plamo, Netmorks, FichtenFoo, Hobbyfanatics, Figure and other forums. Bloggers are also encouraged to post updates or archives of there blog contents as a contribution to the community.

Putting links of your threads in forums and updates of your blogs will merge MAC with the established forums and will definitely help the community. Also putting links of your blog updates could help in the awareness of blog updates to non-blogger members.

These sharing of links will hopefully produce a very diverse Gundam community merging all forums and Gundam blogs in one location, kinda creating a directory of forum threads and Gunpla blogs of some sort, thus coexisting with the great forums and blogs through out the world wide web.

Most importantly, the sharing of your masterpieces by posting photos in our wall would definitely help inspire other members and keep the Gunpla fire burning amongst us. We also invite Junior modelers ( 18 and below ) to join our very first MAC ONLINE competition and try there hand in creating the funniest and cutest SD Gundam they could think of.

Again, my deepest and sincerest gratitude to all the members of MAC and let us continue to provide great content for all the members of the community through all your contributions. Most importantly, ENJOY the HOBBY!!! ;D

THANK YOU to ALL!!! XD

P.S. MAC's most recent members are Kenny Lim aka Toymaker and 5thLuna, the master and king of SDs.
