my TOP picks for G-SHOT 2011 Best Diorama

Good dioramas should have a well done kit and a well done base, great dioramas should be telling some sort of a story.

We have some entries at G-Shot 2011 Best in Diorama category that has well done kits and bases and tells a clear story. They are also shot properly in a nice angle and composition that creates more interest and makes the audience want to see more.

I love dioramas specially Sci Fi dioramas so much and it is fun judging ( together with other judges ) this category. Needless to say this is my most fav category and my fav part of this hobby.

We are currently judging all the entries and Gundam Guy should be announcing the winner soon! I wish everyone good luck. Now here is the Official post at Gundam Guy's...

G-SHOT 2011 Best Customized - Angelo Guibone

I am a bit late here but I am nevertheless very proud to present you the winner of the G-SHOT 2011 Gunpla Photo Contest by Gundam Guy!

The winner of the Best Customized category is Angelo Guibone aka MDgelo. MDgelo has been one of the top Gunpla modelers and customizers in the Philippines and an active member of MechaPinoy since he joined the fray back in 2009.

He represented the Philippines at Bandai Action Kit Universal Cup ( BAKUC ) at HongKong back in 2009 and has won a lot of local competitions since then.

MDgelo is not as active both in the net and in Gunpla modeling last year but continues to produce great customized Gunpla kits once in a while. I sincerely wish more masterpieces from my fellow Filipino modeler this year and the years to come! Best Customized Gunpla belongs to MDgelo of the Philippines this year!

my TOP picks at G-SHOT 2011 Best Customized photo

We ( all the 5 judges ) are currently judging the Best Customized category at G-SHOT 2011. Gundam Guy has announced the winner of Best Straight Build and Best Paint Job already and we will have the results of the Best in Customized very soon! 3 of the 5 judges ( including yours truly ) has casted our votes... so results will be up soon guys!

Much like the previous two categories, the Best Customized category proves to be as difficult to judge. Tons of great entries from all over the world! Previous Filipino Bandai champions Angelo Guibone and Eric Capucion has joined the fun. Top up and coming masters and modelers such as Jonathan Kaminski MatX and Gian Paparo are also on my top picks! Matt Tomczek, the winner in Best Paint Job also has an entry! All great stuff and I have my top 10 picks in random order in this post!

G-SHOT 2011 Best in Paint Job - Matt Tomczek

Good friend and MAC forums VIP member Matt Tomczek of the US just won in the Best in Paint Job category at Gundam Guy's G-Shot 2011 Gunpla Photo Contest!

Lots of great entries in the Best in Paint Job Category but I ended up choosing Matt's fine work on this Perfect Grade GP01. The insane amount of work and the technical skill to pull of such a fine perfect grade masterpiece is too overwhelming for me to not put Matt as the winner. 3 out of the 5 judges chose this build over the others.

G-SHOT 2011 Best Straight Build WINNER!

Although I was a bit late announcing this winner. I believe everyone knows it by now through GG. :)

The winner of this G-SHOT 2011 Straight Build Category is Henry Feng with his striking MG Sandrock build! Henry will be receiving a 1/144 Unicorn Gundam Banshee ( destroy mode and Unicorn mode ), 5 random Gundam markers and a 10$ GG Infinite coupon all sponsored by team Gundam Guy!

The photography is nice, simple and straight to the point! Nothing fancy
with the pose either but the build itself is undoubtedly a very good
straight build.

The color tones are very nice and somewhat
unique. Finishing looks flawless from the photography and the decal work
is pro level stuff. Clean, precise and stunning at the same time. Great
stuff that deserves the win.

The judges at G-SHOT 2011 has already chosen our winner in the G-SHOT 2011 Straight Build category and Gundam Guy shall be revealing the results soon!

All of the judges ( including yours truly ) has picked their top choices for this category already and have decided on a winner. Lots of cool entries and beautiful photos this time and I personally enjoyed looking at all of them and selecting my picks.

The G-SHOT Gunpla Photo Contest was one if not the most successful Gunpla online contest early this year. It got sooo many entries thus we ( Gundam Guy and the other judges ) had a hard time selecting the winners. We are again inviting you to this huge competition as G-Shot are still accepting entries!

Enter those stunning masterpieces and get the chance to win great great prizes from team Gundam Guy! As most of you know, I am once again a judge at this competition. SO I will be picking my FAV entry and we will be sending my pick a Robot Damashii Wing Zero Custom!

Competitors will be competing in 5 main categories:

- Best Gunpla Photo - A
gunpla image that would 'WOW' the judges. It doesn't matter whether
the photo is from a diorama, customized kit or a straight build.

- Best Diorama - An image of a diorama that tells a story, with details that show the modeler's skills.

- Best Customized Gunpla
- An image of a suped-up gunpla. Your image needs to show us the
mastery of your modelling skills, by rightfully
implementing aftermarket/option parts, custom decals,
pla-platings, panel lines, etc. Basically we are looking for 'The
Works' that looks the best.

- Best Paint Job - Obviously we are looking for more than just the stock color. Creativity & painting skills are what count here.

- Best Straight Built Photo
- If you are a novice at building gunpla, we encourage you to send in a
photo that shows the power of your straight build. *Application of
Panel lines are allowed using gundam marker. Paint product such as top
coat and other paint products are not allowed *

We
will also have our judges to individually pick their own favorite
entries, so there will be extra awards given to these winners as well.
More info about prizes will be given in our next update post.
