DC23 Pilot Painting Contest Finalists and Winner

DC23 Pilot Painting Contestphoto

The first Pilot Painting Contest was pretty successful I think. We got a total of 82 entries during the competition. The Contest was most active at Instagram as I have 7,000 followers at Instagram during the contest. It was so cool judging and screening entries during that time. We hope to bring you a quick exciting competition in the near future soon.

This fun contest was sponsored handsomely by GreatToysOnline.com and Hobbymate, links below..

Both HobbyMate and GTO ships worldwide. Fittingly so as I have more following internationally than locally ( Philippines ). HobbyMate will be shipping a handsome HM Airbrush and GTO will be shipping a set of Gundam Metal Nano Puzzles ( Both shops has shipped the prizes to our winner as I write this post ). and so our winner ( as posted both at Instagram and Facebook ) was

Mark Carlisle of Australia

( two time Australia GBWC Champion )

Hope to come up with more competitions soon! As always thanks a ton for dropping by! Until next post guys! Just enjoy the hobby!

Newtype Gunpla Competition by Mechaspot.com

Newtype Gunpla Competition by Mechaspotphoto

I have judged a handful of online Gunpla Competitions already, but never have I been invited to fly to another country and be a guest judge on a competition. I am so honored that Mechaspot.com extended me an invite late last year and I am so excited that their competition is pushing thru.

Yours truly ( Don Suratos aka DC23 of the Philippines ) and Anupong Channarong ( aka nuNunu of Thailand ) will be flying to Indonesia and will be staying there for 3 days. We will be judging a Gunpla competition and both of us will be conducting workshops on Gunpla. The workshops should be fun as we will try to teach you as much as we can during the event ( with live demos ).

Me and nuNunu will also be giving out a special award for the entries of our choice. I will be awarding my fav diorama entry and nuNunu will be awarding his Kitbash King award.

This competition is on December 11 and 12 and is OPEN TO ALL participants as long as you can fly to Indonesia with us. You may register now at Mecha Spot Facebook and Inquire on how to participate in this event.

PG Strike Freedom verDC23 WIP081314

PG Strike Freedom verDC23 WIP081314photo

Not much update since my last post. Basically I did more armor trimming on some parts which I always love to do on any Master Grade or Perfect Grade kits. Armor trimming and separation is done already and I have started to work on the actual modifications I had in mind for this kit. Stay tuned guys as I try to give this PG Strike Freedom a more menacing look.

Thanks as always for dropping by! Until next post guys! Just enjoy the hobby! :)

my TOP picks for G-SHOT 2011 Best Diorama

my TOP picks for G-SHOT 2011 Best Diorama Photo

Good dioramas should have a well done kit and a well done base, great dioramas should be telling some sort of a story.

We have some entries at G-Shot 2011 Best in Diorama category that has well done kits and bases and tells a clear story. They are also shot properly in a nice angle and composition that creates more interest and makes the audience want to see more.

I love dioramas specially Sci Fi dioramas so much and it is fun judging ( together with other judges ) this category. Needless to say this is my most fav category and my fav part of this hobby.

We are currently judging all the entries and Gundam Guy should be announcing the winner soon! I wish everyone good luck. Now here is the Official post at Gundam Guy's...
